Default under seat ducting

i think i got a socket stuck in the heater duct under the front seat, i found a couple of loose tools ones next to the exit.

anytime i tap the brakes/accelerate or make a sharp turn you can hear a clicking coming from there and you can feel it through the carpet. is there any way to remove it without pulling/tilting the seats?

No chance. You will need to remove the seat and the carpet.

Are you sure that's what the problem is? I have heard stories of the seat frame cracking and causing what you describe.

For info this is what the duct looks like. This is RH seat but left is the same.

hmmm

it’s coming from the area where the jag logo is. i’ll try to snake a magnetic pickup in there. seat rails look fine and feel secure

Wow, that must be a huge relief. Well done for getting it out.
The telescopic magnet tool is one that I always make sure is handy, can't remember how many times it's been used.
I should try to be more careful though.
