X300 3.2 Fuel consumption
Hi all
I haven't had my car long and it's running well now after fitting a replacement cylinder head.
However, the fuel consumption is considerably worse than the 4.0 X308 I owned last year doing the same journey to work and back and taking it easy.
To complicate matters more they both run on LPG, the X308 averaged 21MPG, but the X300 less than 16.
Are the 308s that much more efficient or should I be looking for a fault? The later I think.......
Glen.

16 mpg would be reasonable if you are talking almost all short trip or stop-n-go city traffic and US gallons.
I suspect you are referencing British gallons and members here seem to be reporting 25-28 or more on those...although that may be highway (dual carriageway?) driving.
I have no idea what the correlation is between petrol and LP.

My 3.2 (on petrol) does 16 UK mpg in stop start traffic and 19/20 on my 5 mile moving commute. Open road cruising I'll get 27 with 30 achievable if you're REALLY frugal and don't mind sitting in the slow lane and drafting lorries! HTH!
