Hi all, we've discovered at least on one side the inner tie rod is worn out. The ball joint rattles around inside the socket. I've already removed it from the car. But from what I've read Jaguar wants you (me) to replace the entire rack that would already include new rod ends. However I have also read where some folks have replaced them separately. None of my usual parts suppliers carry them for this car. Besides ebay, who else carries the inner rod ends in the US?
SNG Barrat will have them in stock, might be part MNC3901AD if I remember it right,
Why yes they do. Thank you!
I've search through the online service manual and have not found any torque specs for installing these with the tubular tool. I'll apply some loctite. Any suggestions on a good install torque?
It may just be a trick of the camera, but your track rod looks slightly bent.
I had to go back and check it. The rod is definitely slightly bent. I didn't notice that till you pointed it out. That one is being replaced already. But I do need to go back and check the other side now.
Anybody know what the torque spec should be for the inner tie rod to the rack?
