Anyone know what the potentiometer on the X300 key fob is for? Could not find anything on forums or interwebs in general... pic below, pointing at it with silver allen wrench:
My guess is that it is for fine-tuning the transmit frequency. If so it could improve (or reduce) your fob range. This is not a recommendation to try it!
Looks like an adjustable trimmer capacitor rather than a potentiometer.
It will be for fine tuning the resonant frequency of the oscillator circuit.
Typically it would have a adjustment range of about 1-20pF (pico Farads), but as Richard said....you probably would not want to adjust it as that circuit should not drift from when the original factory setting was done.
