Smile X300 power steering fluid change

I am going to change the fluid in my power steering system as recommended. I would like to hear from those of you that do this on a regular basis as to how you go about it. And what type of fluid you use.

Thank you for in advance. I should have been doing this on a regular basis.

On my XJR I initially suctioned-out the reservoir and removed the supply hose at the pump to let more old fluid drain out. Refilled. Drove a couple days.

Again suctioned out reservoir, refill. Repeat, repeat ....without removing the hose, just suctioning....over the next few days until fluid looked bright and fresh. Then repeat again, once a year or so. It takes only moments to suction-out (or drain) the reservoir and keep the fluid 'sweetened', so to speak.

I think the spec calls for Dexron III but I don't think it critical, personally. I happened to have a small supply of "Type F" leftover from an older Jaguar and it worked perfectly well.

Cheers
DD
