X300 Power Steering issue
Good Morning Alcon,
I am having trouble diagnosing a Steering problem after driving a couple miles. I disconnected high side pressure hose at rack, connected pressure gauge, I get a reading of 100-120 psi when centered and very erratic around 1400 when turned lock to lock. Closing valve creates pressure around 1400 also. The pump was rebuilt, Steering rack is original. Please advise if rack or pump is culprit.

Could you describe what the problem was that prompted you to attach the pressure gauge (and indeed what it was that prompted you to replace the pump)? And could you describe how it is connected please? I think the guys will struggle to assist without more of a back story.
