Default x300 window switch harness

Hello everyone,

One of the plugs for my master window switch in the driver’s side door(left hand drive) was damaged, and all of the wires were pulled out. Does anyone have a picture of this part showing where each wire should be pinned, or possibly a link with such information?

The car is a 1996 base model 4.0L. Thank you in advance for taking the time to look at this.

Here's a screenshot of the electrical diagram for the switch. The colours are numbered and you may be able to work out which is Pin 1 from the intact cables. This is LHD. There is a different page for RHD but I don't know if they are different. You can download the full electrical guides from jagrepair.com

However, in your situation I think an easier option would be to get the plug with a decent length of cable from a breakers yard and then just splice the wires.

Brendan,I notice you are in Manchester! I am in Chester. My source of Jaguar spares has been closed for some time now, and I miss it. Where is there a breakers yard in our North West? Alec G.

Thank you very much Brendan! I appreciate your help.

I have thought about calling around to find a junkyard with one, I haven’t had much luck in the past(in south florida). That would certainly be easier, if I can’t find one local ill try to repair this harness, hopefully better than the last attempt at it!

Hi Alec, I don't know of any NW based Jag breakers now. I used to use one in north Manchester but they're gone now. I have a huge collection of spare parts in crates in my garage so rarely need to buy stuff but if I do then ebay is the way to go for used spares. I mostly use David Manners for new parts.

There is a place that's worth trying. John Gordon Jaguar Spares (I've used a few times over the years but only for new parts and always been good service). I think they used to be in Preston (?) but appear to be in Burnley now. Their token online presence is abysmal - looks like it was designed by a 14 year old, 20 years ago but still worth considering.

Thanks for the reply. I do buy new items from the usual suspects and do use e bay. I did have a very handy breakers near Wrexham but he was persuaded to close due to environmental considerations.
