Hey all. Great forum here!
I'm having some trouble with driver side window on a 1999 xj8.
Symptoms:
- When the window is fully closed it no longer returns down.
- Window operates fine (up and down) so long as it never reaches the fully closed position.
- Disconnecting the negative terminal for 5 seconds and reconnecting it allows the window to break free from the fully closed position. But I can't close it all the way.
Cheers!!!!!!

Jonpiero, Another member may have better advice, but I had a similar problem, where my window would go down, but not up. I had to purchase a new switch cluster. I could only get the window up by bypassing the switch. The switch is fairly easy to replace, once you lift off the door panel. If you try a new switch, try to get your part supplier to allow a return, should it turn out to be something else. (the worst they can say is... no)
PS... I think I read in my manual that the negative terminal should be removed for a minimum of 30 seconds, to protect the electronics, I assume. Leave it disconnected a bit longer to be safe.
