Hey there, so today as i was taking my fuel pressure on my X300 (see my other post if you wana know why) a man came by and talked to me. he told me his friend got an XJ rotting in his yard, maybe i'd be interested for parts. so he call him and then tell me its a 93-94 (he's not exactly sure but one of those, but he know for sure its an XJ40 cause its not the round headlamps like the X300) according to him, i could probably get it at a great price. but i'm unsure how usefull the car would be part wise.

I'm fancying a full engine and transmission rebuild in the futur, so i'd probably take another set of engine and trans so the car can run while i do this. i know the electronics are not the same, but for the most part of those things, the parts i'D actually rebuild. is it the same?

i'm also interested in anything people can say will fit, lets start with the assumption nothing will. i tried to google it, but i can hardly find any kind of list of what will.

I'm Figuring the wheels will fit? a set of wheels for the second season could be nice if they're not ugly.

My body and interior is in very satisfying condition so its not so much these parts i'm interested in anyway. maybe the console though. if its similar enough.

If we get enough info i'll reorganise the post to make a nice list for anyone's reference.

I have a '95 X300 myself. I have access to a 94 XJ40 at the breakers. Very Sad swap possibilities.

So far:
Rear View Mirror.
Headlight Switch Knob/Lever
Wheels.

Struck out:
Rear Parcel Shelf
Map Light
Center Console parts (Ski Slope, Climate Control, Radio, etc...)
Cam Cover

Yet to try:
Rear Seat Base and Back.

I am actually quite amazed at the amount of change a model year can make.

Plus Side:

Door Handle Trim may work. I suspect radiator fan/shroud assembly is a go.

The switch from spark plug wires / single coil to Coil Packs happened also.

Yeah I know about the Coil on plug and cam sensor difference. So about the engine and trans I'm mostly asking for the core parts and not the whole deal as is.

Rear view mirror only for early X300s. They changed late in 95 or early 96 I believe.
