It happens far too often that people go after the exotic causes without full confirmation of the basics.

 

Hi guys. It still bogs. Stalls when I step on it. I took off throttle body and cleaned it like it was new.
Put back on and it stalls when I step on it. Sometimes small backfires. Appreciate any advice.

 

Can you read OBD codes and fuel trims?
Have yu gone over th intake manifold for cracks/leaks ?

My '97 VDP was running rough and registered a bad emissions code. It turns out that the gasket on the gas cap was not sealing properly. Got a new gas cap, cleared the code, and it's running fine...'til my wife drove it, but that's another story! :-)
