Hi every one, cant find section for 96, so try ask here
I have a problem, the car cranks over but wont start. No fuel, no spark. On the coils one wire positive (when turn ignition on), and nothing on other wire. On the injectors both wires positive. What could be the problem?
Other think, remote not work. When I press the lock or unlock button nothing happens, only head lights come on for about 5 seconds.
It is 2 different problems or its could one?

Your electrical measurements seem right. Voltage is supplied to the coils, and the ecu pulls them to ground. I Hate to make a diagnosis on such limited information, but I bet you have a failed crank position sensor. They are known to fail and will result in excactly your sysmptoms. Does your tach move while cranking? The CKPS is located on the front crankshaft and reads the notches from the front damper / pully assembly. They are available from many online sources and are reasonable. Some XJ6 owners carry one as a spare since they are known to fail. Good luck.

Yes I thought already about crank sensor, but why no fuel (fuel pump is running, no pulse on the injectors), or crank sensor responsible for both spark and injectors? any ways will try change it.
thanks
thanks
now its starts and die
car was sit over 2 years, just change fuel, fuel filter, cleaning the fuel pressure regulator.
What I have to clean or change also?

You may want to open the gas tank at the fuel pump and inspect the "sock" on the pickup fuel line inside your gas tank. Your gas tank may have a lot of sediments when it was sit over 2 years. The sediments can block your fuel pick up line. If you do you must drain your gas tank. Purge the inside of the tank with air to remove all the fuel vapor before open it up.

Yes, the crank sensor fires both the fuel input and the spark- and the tach, by the way!Originally Posted by pan84

Ok I completely finish with engine today. After 2 years sitting (has the bad ecm), I repair ecm, change the spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, change oil, alternator (had no charge) but engine still shake. Lot of trouble codes p0300 p0306 p0303 p1314 p1313, I just get angry, dump double dose lucas injector cleaning and go to highway. An the highway accelerate to 130 mp/h (208 km/h) with throttle body fully open for about 1 minute, slow down to 40 mp/h and accelerate to 130 again. Repeat 5 times and come back to my house. Now its runs perfect no any shake or trouble codes. Its crazy way, but it works.
