Default XJR won't start

Hello, I have a 1997 Jaguar XJR with 170k on the clock and wanted to post my frustration online to help others. I recently replaced the fuel pumps in the tank and it was a chore! Before you replace the fuel pumps, check your fuel pump relays first and replace your fuel filter! To check the fuel pump relays, plug them into the horn relay socket in the right hand engine bay fuse box and see if the horn still works. If you pull the tank out of the car and rip the fuel feed and return lines out, you will need new stuffer pins; they are part number EBC9606. When you put everything back together, and the engine will not turn over, you will need to reset the inertia fuel shut off button in the passenger side foot well under the carpet. You may also have to remove the top cap on the auto-transmission J-gate to move the car in and out of neutral. Lastly, there is a main wiring harness plug in the trunk area that is strapped to the body of the car; you will need to pull this out and plug it back in firmly. If your car still does not start, pull the ignition relays and plug them into the horn relay socket to test.

Thanks for all the info. It is incredible that removing the tank can cause all that stuff to stop working. I would like to know from anyone if they know the reason for that.
