Default XK8R/XJR/XJ8 Brembo Brake Kit

Hi all,

I'm upgrading my X300 wheels to 18" x 8.5" Milans soon. Saw this Brembo brake kit on an old catalogue and was wondering if its a bolt on fit or do I have to use adapters etc? Any thoughts please?

It was mentioned somewhere on the forum few times before, I believe they should bolt straight on, but right now I'd suggest using the search function.

Jaguar XK8 - Video Dailymotion

The calipers are the same with XK8s but the disk offset of the front is different, so I think you won't be able to fit the front calipers and discs without modification.

Thanks Japthug. Do you think I would have to use some spacers then? Is that advisable?

Firecrow, I did actually search the forums but did not find a conclusive thread. Most are "should" and "could" and "perhaps" ... but I did not come across anyone who actually bolted it on. Would appreciate a thread link from you if you've come across it recently. Maybe i'm not searching it right.

Found this ... seems like it would clear my Milans. But since it came from a X308 thread I'm still not so sure.

I'm about to plonk down a significant sum for the brake so I have to be doubly sure it'll fit.

Sorry but I cant tell if you can fit brembo discs with spacers.
But from the dimension of the discs I don't think you can, for the thickness difference is 11mm from the top of the hat.
In addition, even the normal R of X308 has a different hubs from the ones of the NA models in order to clear the larger discs (NA: 305mm dia, normal XJR:325mm dia, Brembo:355mm dia) so I think you will need a bracket anyway.
I found that XK8 is fitted 325mm rotor from 1999 and that might be the reason they fit the brembo straight forward in the movie.
