Bought a remote off ebay as the car only came with one. Tried programing with the proceedure listed here with no results.

1. high beam held back
2. turn key to 1
3. flash high beam 4 times
4. push remote button.

Nothing
Tried with the trunk open and d. side door open too.
Nothing
Number is the same as my other. ideas?

 

try flashing the lights with more frequency, aren't you supposed to hear an audible chirp?

additional instructions here, for the xk8, but should be similar.

 

Tried it again and this time it worked just fine.

 

Follow the instructions, the third time is the charm!
