Unhappy 1998 Jaguar XJ8 L - Solution Needed

I have a 1998 Jaguar XJ8 L. the car won't crank – the battery was tested and is fine (70%). The car is getting fuel in the line, the belts are turning, starter is good, but it just does not turn over after trying for 10 minutes.

I discovered what appears to be red transmission fluid under the front of the vehicle. What could be the problem?

Welcome to the forums DaddyBill3,

I've moved your question from US Mid Atlantc Region to X308 forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

First off, 70% is not good for these cars, they are very fickle. For cranking and starting, voltage needs to be above 12.5v+. Lets work on getting that battery up to snuff first, get a charge on it and confirm there is no corrosion on the cables or battery posts.

You state the belts are turning and the starter is good, but its not turning over....are you saying after 10 minutes of rolling the motor it stops rolling? If so, yeah, after 10 minutes of rolling your heating up that starter badly. Its only designed to be needed for about 1-5 seconds.
....when was the last time the plugs were changed? How many miles are on them....have you checked the gap?
....have you scanned the OBD for any codes? If so, please report them.
....you may have Bore Wash (an AJ26 nikasil motor issue), but until you report back we won't get into that. Don't try to start it again until you inform us of what's requested, you can flood it to where you need to change the oil.
