1998 XJR kickdown switch
Does anybody know how the XJR kickdown switch works? I'm talking about the button beneath the gas pedal. I haven't been as much kickdown lately past 60-70mph and I'm wondering if it's the switch. I pulled off the cap and there's a few springs and a electronic button. Is it supposed to move back and forth with ease? Currently there's grease in there but it doesn't move in/out.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'm not certain about the x308, but many cars use them to sense WOT-state (wide open throttle) which modifies the computer control over the drivetrain to put forth maximum power (ie. air breather to max-open, most-aggressive shift-pattern, etc.)
If the x308 is the same and your switch don't work then you will never get full potential of the vehicle when you floor it.

Don't forget to double-check the throttle cable on the throttle body as well, to make sure there's not excessive play there too. I had to adjust mine to tighten up my response for the kick-down.
