I just bought a 1999 Gold Vanden Plas for my wife and she loves it.

But the car does NOT have any kind of licence plate braket to hold the front licence plate.

Where can I get one, and where does it go, there are no holes in the front bumber to mount one.

Just use some self-tapping screws and go for it (make sure you center it, obviously). I don't have a front bracket for mine either, but I put a plastic plate over the license plate to keep it from bending. Seems to work just fine.

 

I got one from the dealer about 5 years ago... I assume the part is still available for purchase if it's requested. It does require making some holes in the bumper.

Why will you drill in a perfectly good bumper and make the front ugly?
I'm also in CA and never had a problem with cops.
On time I got stopped in my Viper GTS and when the cop told me that i should have a front license plate I pointed out the fact that there no provision ( holes) from the factory to mount it and that i was not going to modify the car from the factory by DRILLING holes in my bumper.
I then asked him if he would do it if it was his own car?
Answer was nope.
Point is cops have better thing to do ( or should do) than worrying about a front license plate.
