Default 1999 XJ8 side marker lights come on by themselves

I have a 1999 XJ8 that I just purchased. The car is in great condition but it has a gremlin. When the car sits for a couple of hours or more ( no rime or reason) the marker lights come on and drain the battery. The car is locked up and I have gotten up at 2 a.m. and the lights are on. I can't figure it out. Is it a module that is faulty? Can anyone please help me.

Thanks

Sounds just like a bad BPM. Make sure the battery is in fact good to begin with. Can you provide a amp draw test after all the modules go to sleep?
