Hello, global warming has eluded us here in Upstate NY but it did get hot enough for the AC this weekend. Usually the little woman gets to drive the Jag but today we were both out for a nice drive to drop a few school supplies off with junior. When the AC is on there's a few unpleasant odors wafting around the cabin (it wasn't me, I swear!). Is there a cabin air filter on the 99 XJR's? I have the manual on a CD but couldn't find any mention of one. Thanks.

 

There isn't one on my 1999 XJR Canadian one. USA and Mexico I would think do not have them neither

 

Many recommend keeping AC on always - keeps the air channels dry so the odors stay under control even in cooler climates (like NH). There are also air conditioning/heater cleaner and deodorizer products in most auto parts stores. Treatment is easy - follow the directions. That might get your Jag smelling great again.

 

Don't forget to check the drain hose, if that is plugged up you'll get problems too.
