You could try pulling the remote apart and cleaning the buttons and chip. Use a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol, scrub down the contacts on the board, and scrub down those little nubs on the insides of the buttons. That is, if the remote used to work and stopped working. Since the other buttons work I'd assume that the electronics in the car are fine and paired to the remote. People have also upgraded/redone the contacts on these remotes several ways, worth a search.

I posted a procedure I used a couple months ago on the 4 fobs for my 2 XJs, and they are still working great. Yeah, you have to spend some $ for the kit, but it's a lot cheaper than new ones from JLR.

Search for key fob repair; or, it may be listed in one of the stickies at the top of the forum

There are many people on eBay who will refurbish your remote and get it working properly again if you don't want to try yourself. Prices are quite cheap and the results are good.

Old guy gripe time: Pretty simple rules here: same problem? One threads is sufficient. Also, it is really useful if you put your vehicle info in your signature. Although there are not many differences among X308 year to year there are enough to make a difference. It is also useful to know where you live.
