Welcome buyed, that's definitely an interesting site name. But in any case, could you please take a moment to introduce yourself and your Jag here... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/
...it kind of a site requirement and rule review. Also, you'll notice a highlighted thread at the top of that forum about Location....give it a look. This only takes a couple minutes.
So, to your issue...you say its been this was for 2 yrs...do you get any codes or restricted performance? My first suspect is the CPS (crank positioning sensor), there is a possibility it may be dirty, failing or the terminal connection could of gotten damaged by debris and giving you this intermittent issue.
We need some info for the next one...when you say it doesn't start, do you mean the motor rolls, but it doesn't start or you put the key in and nothing happens? Depending on what you tell us, this may have something to do with the ignition sensor at the key cylinder or your keys themselves?
Other items you can inform us about are, last plug change, have you done a fuel pressure check, what's the condition of your air filter, when did you change your fuel filter last and this biggie...have you upgraded your timing chains and tensioners?
We look forward to your response...
