Default 2000 xj8 no power when cold

My 2000 xj8 has developed a bad habit of not wanting to accelerate when cool. I have scanned the engine and come up with 1647 ( computer and aux output) 308 ( cyl 8 misfire) 1318 (general misfire) 1000 ( it's always up) I don't think it is the misfire causing the hesitation. 1647 came up twice. What can I look for to resolve this? Even when warm the car has a hesitation just above idle.

P1647 refers to the LH O2 sensor I believe.

Chances are the misfire is causing bad combustion which in return will get the O2 sensor to read something is going wrong. I would imagine a mix of the actual misfire and the O2 sensor reading is not giving you an ultimate recipe for best performance. I came across cyl misfire before and in one instance it was the spark plug "conduit" that got filled up with water (was unclogging my heater core and water found its way there) - but the engine is known to have oil leak in there as well and eventually need to clean it out. Second most common misfire issue is a malfunctioning coil. I had to replace one as well. Easy and cheap (enough) fix. The O2 sensor reading will probably go away once misfire fixed.

Keep us posted

Cheers

I changed the #8 coil and it idles smooth now without hesitation. I still have the problem of lack of power for the first 1/4 mile of driving. Can the bad O2 sensor cause this?
