Bob, interestingly my 2000 vandenplas has different color wires as shown in the 2000my Jaguar xj8 wiring diagram.
I wonder what that if that points to ...if anything? Interesting, if nothing else. (I have same wiring diagram as yours)
no orange wires
(also "yellow" wires could be discolored white... I will open cable to check)
WU white/blue.. hot lead
BY black/yellow... ground
GY green/yellow ... maf sensor signal
BP black/purple... iats sensor signal
BU black/blue..... ground
