Default 2001 Van Den Plas wont turn off

Ok, the battery went dead, after trying to charge the battery it was decided the battery was not able to take a charge.

Replaced the battery, car starts, charges to 14 Amps, all the lights work!

Go to turn the car off and nothing happens... ummmm what do I do now?

Is thers some kind of process I am missing because of the new battery?

When turning off the ign swithch all of the dash lights go off but the three center dash lights stay on, Speed-O, Temp, etc.

Could the ing swithch have gone bad?

there is a small 2 pin white connector in the trunk by the positive battery cable. It is to a transit relay that is hooked to the postive post for shipment to keep the battery from draining during transportation. The connector just useally lays around after the relay is removed and thrown away. But if the connector gets crush and cross shorts which may have happened during youre battery installation, the ignition will be back fed power and not turn off..Check it

Default Transit Relay

I checked the Transit Relay and it seems to be fine. The plug is not deformed and the portion of the wire I can feel does not have a bad place that I can find.

With the battery connected and the key out of the car, I can hear a very high pitch sound that is comming from the Throttle body.

When you turn the key to the on possistion the A/C unit comes on even if it was off prior to turning on the key.

I have had electric fans cause an engine to keep running because they created power and back fed threw the system. But the fan slowed down and eventually shut down the engine.

New News to add: The owner jump started another vehicle last week and while hooking up the cables created a spark that caused a 30 amp fuse that controls the wiper motor to go bad...

Any ideas?

This is an outlyer, but look up the relay that controls the wiper motor and pull it. Maybe the arc fused the relay contacts closed while also blowing the wiper fuse.

I spoke with the local Jag, wiring guru and he said there is a relay under the dash that is blown. The car will be in his care on Wed. Thank you for your help!
