2001 XJR Temperature Display
Hi all fron Scotland, I recently bought my first Jag, 2001 XJR, enjoying every minute driving it, only one very small issue, there does not appear to be any backlight in the interior / extreior temperature disply, the rest of the dash is ok, can someone please advise if the bulb be replaced, or does the unit need replacing?
you have to get the shifter trim off, then the wood veneer around the shifter off, then I think you can unscrew the various units: climate control, radio, etc
I removed the console a couple of months ago to modify my ash tray to hold a scanguage, from what I remember:
1. shifter trim: lift up gently until it releases. then unbolt the black plastic with the s button and cc button. then unclip wiring for the S button and the cc button
2. wood veneer: there may be screws, maybe not. then lift up at the base near the cupholder and pull up and out
3. I think then you can see the screws that cold the climate panel in.
I haven't personally messed with the climate panel but what I know should at least get you to the panel
good luck
