2003 XJ8 Water pump replacement help
I've watched a couple of different videos on changing the water pump, as well as reading various threads on here. It seems simple enough but im running into a few issues.
2003 xj8 4.0
Is there some way to get the hook or if the way without taking it off?
what all has to be removed to get to the water pump easily?
Thr videos ive seen skip over these parts, and my car doesn't have the same amount of space or layout as the others othersgo straight into removing the belt, etc.). Can anyone provide a little assistance?

Removing the water pump is a pretty straightforward process. 1) To avoid anti-freeze running all over the front of the engine and the floor, undo the radiator drain plug and drain a portion of the antifreeze into a clean container. 2) remove the large radiator hose to give better access, 3) loosen the three bolts holding the waterpump pulley. 4) remove the serpentine belt . 5) remove the waterpump pulley. 6) undo the bolts holding the waterpump and remove the waterpump. 7) Replace with new waterpump and gasket. (may want to replace the thermostat while you are there) 8) reassemble and refill with antifreeze.
Waterpiumps and gaskets are available at economic prices at Rock Auto.
