seems half of the temp screen is dark. is this a matter of changing a backlight bulb behind the unit? or do i have to search for another. while im asking this, the light behind the driver side seat heat switch is out. one more... are the window switches in the rear door backlit? are any of these a simple bulb swap ?

Yes, the lcd screen has 2 bulbs behind. All switches are lighted (save for steering wheel control) but with LED I believe

 

thanks, i can find out the bulbs when i pull he unit, but do you happen to know what they are offhand? also , the seat heater switch bulb? as far as the LED's , is this something thats replacable without soldering?

 

They're twist lock bulbs, not l.e.d's, so changing them isn't a solder job. They're not a standard fitting t5/t10 size, so the dealer is the place to get drop in replacements.
