would you guys say it is more likely the seat motor / drive gear of module issue? im just looking at replacements and would like to have an idea of what im possibly looking at.

Mine had a broken motor (only turned one way), and it had fried a relay on the control module...

 

Swap the driver module with the passenger side. That will clearly tell you what the problem is.

 

thanks. as far as putting in a new module , would i have to have a dealer program it? how much of an ordeal is that?

 

I bought one used and it was plug and play but matched the part number and /xxx VCAT extension. Discussions seem to be that the passenger side is not programmable. One comment from a tech was that only the '03 up SCM's were programmable.

My car has seat control modules with different part numbers and different VCAT numbers, neither of which match the car, and both worked at one time, only the driver side at the moment. Need to replace the passenger seat module.

A definitive resolution of module swapping would benefit a large number of folks.

 

took out the seat today to have a look. turns out the drive wire from the motor to the gear housing was pulled out somehow. i re-set it, threw some gorilla tape on it for good measure and now she works... i love a good ending
