Default 99 xj8 timing chain failure - apparently

lookin at pickin up a 99 with an apparent timing chain failure at and bent valves 80k

any chance of a rebuild?

easier to just swap engines?

advice?

lookin for the quickest easiest option here

have no problem running the car with hit pistons, not a perfectionist, its just a car, as long as it runs reliably i am happy.

any place that will tell me what engines are direct swaps?

I would yank the heads off and rebuild them and be done with it. Engine swaps can get complicated and the engines changed somewhere between '98 and '03 at least a couple of times.
