Default 99 xjr electrical issues

new to board but have been a long time reader any help would be welcomed

My 99 xjr had a issue where the trunk release and keyless entry stopped working...I ended up replacing the battery after the car would not start and now the car starts fine.

The issues that im having now is on top of the key fob and trunk release now my central locking wont work with key or button on cluster and the gas tank will not open. I have pulled the pin out of the aucuator for the gas to put gas in it but trying to get info on where I should start looking. All fuses look good in trunk and under kick panel

Thanks in advance

I had a similar issue with my central lock and key fob. Have you checked all the fuses that are under the front rear passenger seat? If you don't know what I mean, and I don't mean to insult your intel but, if you were looking at your rear passenger seat, pull the carpet back that is directly under where your calf/ankles would be. I had a blown fuse which fixed the problem.

so i have worked on finding the problem and what i have found is my battery is not draining. The anti-theft system is engageing by itself if I dont start the car for about 12 hours. The other problems are still there such as no rear or reverse lights no luggage light(checked microswitch) and trunk release stays in valet mode even with master key...any help is needed thank you

Check the small door over the ignition key switch (steering column). If this door sticks open, the system thinks a key is still inserted and will not allow central locking to work via the key fob. A bit of lubrication to the key slot and exercise with the key usually fixes this problem.
