dogs, I don't know the full details about what the Select Edition warrantee may cover, but I would place money that it will only cover non-wear items. So, things like brakes, rotors, filters and other items that require routine maintenance will not be covered. Shocks would fall into this category. But, because the compressor is "not expected to fail", then it is covered by the warrantee. As for what it would cost to replace, I would figure you will have about 90 minutes of labor to get the new shock installed.

As for the part failing, if it is anything like the ones on the Ford trucks that I am used to playing with, them failing is not uncommon.

Dogs, do a search for suspension trouble here on the forum. Last winter there was quite a lot written about these failures and what the SE warranty would cover.

There is a salesman at a dealership in Houston, TX named Earl Kiker who once wrote (on another forum) that the shocks were covered under the SE warranty. Everything else I have read says no.

Neither fault could be characterized as uncommon from what I have read. That's all the input I can give on the subject, good luck with your Jag.
