Do you need really good car ? or just fine basic car ? I saw on iaai xjr. but there is nothing in description that is xjr 100
https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/Vehicl...oadRecent=True

I wanted to buy this only for parts but cost of shipping would be too high.

Default What a shame...

Door sill plates, red stiching... It's a 100 but looks like someone already got the wheels. Looked to be pretty clean.

Edit, I had an extra carfax and ran the vin..
One owner car, Corporate, Arizona title Last safety inspection in CA on 02/09/2015 mileage reported 16,200.
Accident report 12/07/2015
Not showing salvage title YET. But I'm sure it will get updated be it goes up for sale.

For what it's worth, about 2 days ago I was quoted $560 to ship a salvage XJR 1100 miles from Texas to Northern Illinois. That's not too bad in my opinion. I didn't ask the guy, but I am assuming the quoted price was for an open transport.

**EDIT: Disregard what I said.. I forgot you are in Europe.**

Good call. Don't think the Brembo's would fit under that wheel.

Yeah I'm guessing those are 17's. Obviously the owner knew what the parts were worth, and stripped them off before they came for the car. Smart.

FYI, I'm going to send you a PM in a minute about something unrelated.

If one of you guys buys that crashed car let me know because I'd like some parts!
PS - what a shame.

I would buy it in a heartbeat Johnny, but I've the Atlantic between it and me. If it was in the UK I'd fix it, as long as the door shuts/scuttle and roof where straight, as they look to be?

I would love the seats and other red-stitched parts. You guys in the States get all the cool toys

eh.. I don't know if I would even attempt to fix this one. It took a pretty bad hit.. Who knows how the rest of the car was affected. I'd say it's strictly for parts (mostly interior.) And as we pointed out above, the special/expensive 19" wheels are gone, as well as the Brembo brake setup. That's probably $4000-5000 right there in parts, if you can even find them. Assuming you can get those parts, then you still have to get the actual damage repaired. My guess would be $6-10,000.. Probably the latter, unless you can do a lot of it yourself.

What I find most interesting about this car is that the airbags didn't deploy! That's just crazy.

Nobody should be trusting air bags on a 14 year old car!

After looking at those pictures I would agree. I was always told that airbags have a lifespan of 10 years, and it was certainly true in this case. Question is.. What do you do at that point? Does Jaguar even manufacture new x308 airbags anymore? Or is there someone out there that can rebuild them with fresh components?

Airbag "expiration" is mostly a myth. Believe me if there was solid ground they were unreliable over the years your insurance company wouldn't let you use the discount after a certain age of the system. Modern airbags and their deployment systems are built for the long haul or insurance companies would be crying foul.

My thought on that car is it was more of a corner/side impact, much like this only a little worst. No airbag deployment on this one either.
