Default battery not charging??

OK guy's
My every day driver 98 XJ8 VDP is giving me a warning every now and then, and may not show up for a day or two. Battery is very good and checked all cables, even the one from the (new) alternator to the starter. Now my battery has never gone down and starts great every time. Just worried the not charging light will stay on and not go off.

I would disassemble and clean the bulkhead battery connection in the engine compartment and make sure clean, bright and tight. Same with the battery connection and the cable ends. One last area that will cause a no charge is the engine ground on the right side just a little ways back from the wheel. It is a braided wire that corrodes. It runs from the frame to the transmission.

+1 You have a new alternator? Why? Was the old one not charging? Make sure the connections to the alternator are tight; make sure the battery cables are tight; check the belt to be sure it is not badly worn or frayed (the drivers manual describes how to check for stretch).
