best way to pull the hood?
So since my 99 XJR showed up in the driveway it's tormented me with a piece of the radiator grill surround that's out of position. I'm not sure what the issue is but I can see I'll need to remove the hood to get access to the misplaced part. I've seen parts of posts saying removing the grills and then the hood bolts is the way to go. I've seen other posts that don't mention anything outside the obvious, open the hood, disconnect the struts, & pull the hinge bolts plan.
Has anyone done this enough times to develop a preferred method for pulling the hood?
I know it's a two man job but are there any issues I should be particularly careful of?

Mark the hinge outlines on the hood prior to removal so when you put it back you can quickly realign it.
However - I don't think you need to remove the hood at all to get to the radiator grill surround

The grille panels should have 2 fasteners at the top of each panel. Remove the fasteners and tilt forward and lift. The panels will come out.
Once the panels are out you will have access to the fasteners on the left and right sides of the surround. Remove them and the surround will come out.
You should be able to identify what is not aligned and fastened correctly. The screws go into nylon iinserts. The manual calls for removing them and replacing with new. You can reuse them as long as they are not broken or the hole is to large to grip the crews.
