Hello All! I've fitted a lovely set of HID Lights to my Main Beam and the road is lit up great when I use them, though the standard H7s are still in place with uprated bulbs. There is reason behind my maddness, don't worry. Also I've fixed my headlight washer system, so they stay clean too!

Now I'm turning my attention to replacing the door speakers, as the standard ones simply arn't up to the job of handling the Jaguar Stereo unit, which has so much potential! I want higher quality speakers, that'll give me a great sound! Anyone got any suggestions on a good brand? Ta for your help! S.

I have the standard Alpine speakers in my XJR (with the seperate tweeters) and I think they are pretty good. I'd be interested to see what could make the sound better.

I recently changed my XJS speakers from some Sony stuff (not factory, someone had been playing around here before I bought the car) to Infinity Reference series speakers which I think are pretty good, but for me "good" means almost as good as the Alpines in my XJR.

I only paid 60USD per pair for Infinity 5.1/4 inch, which I thought was pretty good

 

Boston Acoustics s55's and Focal Access 130CA1's both sound good to me in the X308's

 

I'm a huge supporter of the MMC (Momo) higher end of the Polk brand. I've had them in my jeep grand cherokee and now the XK8...they have the smoothest, natural sounding midrange w/o overdoing the high (tweeter) end. Whatever you do, get a silk dome tweeter, not titanium or other metallic...thats no bueno.

Prices of the MMCs (Now called MM) are about $200 retail (and ebay). If you can find the MMCs new, i'd pick up a pair of them for about $100 less. Discontinued doesn't mean poor quality.

Thanks Guys! When I took my door panel off, I noticed my speakers are Jaguar Standard Items, Phillips I think, not Alpine or anything. My first thought was to look at JBL speakers, but have noted down your suggestions and will be visiting a Massive Car Audio Centre Near to where I live very soon. Thanks Again! S.
