Angry Brake lights! Working BUT..

Whats with this delay I have? They work, I did have the "rear bulb" failure but fixed that with a new security module and crap.
The lights work, Both, Everything really! But, They have a delay. Sometimes I'll push the brake and they come on instantly, Sometimes i have to hold the brake and it takes 1-2 seconds or more.

I'm gonna assume brake switch is bad? It does seem like the pedal has a little wiggle to it, Somethings loose and shorting? Anybody else experience this?

I also think it's a faulty or misaligned brake switch. It's not shorting it's going open at times. You might spray the switch with WD40. See if it improves. or buy a new updated switch.

It does have a little wiggle to the pedal some. Barely, But more than what would seem normal. Might be misaligned.

Is the delay common across all 3 brake lights, or is it only the sides with the center mount brake light functioning normally? If it's all 3 it could be possible the brake switch is bad or sticking.

A bit of play is normal in the brake pedal, the pivot design on these pedals isn't the tightest... With the engine off, you should be able to hear the brake switch click very quietly just when you start to press the pedal, as well as the shifter park interlock releasing if you have the key to ON and transmission is in P. If the click of the park interlock, and the lighting of the brake lights happens at the same time, but both with the same 1-3 second delay, or needing to wiggle the pedal, you know it's probably related to the switch or associated wiring.

Yeah, It's all 3. If i angle my foot on the brake pedals corner closest to the passenger, it comes on usually instant, if i put my foot more center of the pedal its delayed or nothing at all. I'm probably gonna see If i can clean the switch or mess with it a little and find out if its just loose or a short or what. I've been mashing it a bit seeing if i could get it loosened, Because the car did sit for a few years before I bought it and I'm just now driving it more after I fixed its bore wash issue, Turns out it was purely old deposits keeping things from closing tightly in the motor. It's re-gained combustion now big time lately and holding it fairly well.
