Default Can't push down lock post

My 98 pass front lock button resists efforts to go down and lock the door. The other 3 retract normally upon using the key. Would it be the actuator, or could a rod be jammed ??
Any thoughts would be very welcome !
Thanks, Jim

I would recommend spraying WD-40 in the key opening, the locking portion in the door and down around the pin. They get gummed up and stick. Then use the key in the door and lock/unlock thru a few cycles. Also, while you have it out spray the trunk/boot key opening and cycle it a few times. They too are known to stick but more from non-use.
If that is unsuccessful then go for opening it up and spraying down the door latch solenoid. The chances of something being bent are slim but but being gummed up are greater.

Avern, it is mentioned it is the passenger side, no key lock, no gumming up .

Most likely the actuator.
You can remove the inner card and reach it to have a further check, but replacing with a new or used one is probably the way to go.

+1 check all electrical contact points in the door, mine had been rattled lose after a door slamming episode w/ a disgruntled teen earlier this year.
