Changing Rear Brake Light Assembly - Left
Hello,
I wanted some information on how to replace my rear tail lights for my XJ8 2002. The tail light is cracked and I have ordered a new rear tail light set.
- Also, if anyone has details on upgrading lights for 02 Jag please let me know.
Best,
Askari

If you decide to add red LED bulbs to your tail lights, they will need 10 ohm power resistors wired in parallel to eliminate the "rear bulb fail" dash messages. Using 6 ohm power resistors will eventually fry your BPM, as the taillights (but not the brake lights) are powered directly from the BPM.

Actually Samilcar, I believe SuperbrightLED has a CAN BUS unit... https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...1445&year=2002 ...that may eliminate the need for resistors. I did my dash about 5 months ago and couldn't control the dimming, ...they were 24/7 bright. After conferring with a friend he took a look and found I had overlooked the CAN BUS model. Replaced them with them and WALLA! ...all is well in LED dashboard land.
