That was a very insiteful post EXCEPT this is the XJ308 forum and there are no fuses in the dash!

Just to add to this; My UK '98 XJR cigarette lighter fuse was fuse 14 found under the back seat behind the driver's seat..

Glad I found this post. My cigar lighter used to work, but eventually stopped working. I was looking for the fuse and as many mentioned here I went "by the book" to #14 right hand side rear heal box. Not fuse position !! Was scratching my head. Will look in trunk, even though I tested all my fuses and only one I found blew up was back seat warmers related. Might have to consider replacing it (or remove and clean it) as appears quite corroded.

cigar lighter not working 'FIX'

Hi, thanks to you all for this fix my xj8 x306 2001 cigar lighter fix in the boot position number 5 broken 25 amp fuse changed and both lighters working yeaaa cheers

Guys thanx you very much. Saved me a lot of work searching for the lighter fuse in spot 14 on the right heel panel. Yes it is in the trunk in spot 5 on the 99 XJR.
