Default clock-swap: Aston Martin V12 Vanquish

I have always liked the early 2000s Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. I have noticed throughout my perusal of the Vanquish that it shares the instrument cluster, radio, and climate control with the X308. I also noticed the clock looked similar. Found one on ebay, got it shipped to the USA from the UK, and it fits perfect as it is the mechanically the exact same as the Jaguar clock.

Aston Martin clock has a white face with red needles, which I personally like, some people may prefer the factory clock.

Comparison, my factory clock on the right, Aston Martin part on the left:

Looks good!

I like these subtle but noticeable interior mods you have done. I want to do some interior mods on my VDP too. I'm trying to figure out a way to dye my VDP's white center console stitching and door handle stitching to brown to match the seat piping.

That's a super cool touch, it really is a shame that
it doesn't have Aston Martin written anywhere on
its face. Dare I say it that our Jags have a more appealing
interior fascia than the Aston. The stereo/ climate faces
look bespoke in our cars, and the switches in the AM are
straight out of an XK8.

@burmaz: Thanks, the changing the color of the stitching would be cool but seems like it would be quite the task, I"ll let you know if I ever come across anything

@Sandy: I don't want to risk breaking my factory clock in case I want to put the car back to factory spec some day, but it looks like you could easily separate the casing and get to the the bare face. as far as changing the face that would be easy as long as it is possible to remove the needles, which I don't know.

@ianclements: I agree

@carzaddict: I also noticed the slightly uneven illumination. I may be wrong, but looking at the casing it appears that there is only one bulb in there by design to begin with, and it is in the upper left corner. this makes the lower right corner slightly less bright. It's not noticeable unless you are looking for it.

@Danielsand: I'm not even sure if I like it, original spec clock might go back in

The Jaguar clock seems to have larger and more legible numbers. For that reason alone, I would prefer the original clock.

The clock is remarkably handy at intersections with time of day restrictions on turning

The clock, despite any qualms you may have, is
(presumably) an AM Genuine part. Which is super
cool. And you can say, "My car's clock is taken from
an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish." which may be worth
the slightly less appealing face. I like white/black
with the Jaguar logo.
