Coil spring isolators.
So, I have had a squeak in the front end of my jag for some time now...I've narrowed it down to either be control arm bushings or isolators... But when I looked online (SNG Barratt) I only see isolators for the rear, are the rear the same as the front? Does the front even have coil spring isolators?
Thanks
Thanks
The front indeed DOES HAVE insulators. I confirmed this when I redid my entire front suspension (all bushings, ball joints, lowering springs, etc). The insulators are thin plastic pieces that sit in the lower control arm. I took these out when I put the lowering springs in because it is somewhat of a spacer for ride height. I have no noise since taking those out.
Your document is titled "XK8" not "XJ8" which he is inquiring about.
#2 on your diagram is the insulator. They call it a "packer" in the description. It is made from plastic, as I already mentioned. There are no rubber pieces in the front spring setup. An insulator does not have to be made from rubber to be considered an insulator, by the way.
