Default coolant recovery tank 2000 xj8

The first picture -How do you remove the expansion and bleeder hose from the coolant recovery tank?
2nd picture - Easy way to remove the hose on the bottom that is attached to the nipple.
Thanks

For the plastic hoses, squeeze and spread the clips. You mat need a small flat
head. The bottom hose, I use hose clamp pliers.

Default where to buy hoses??

Hi fellas. (2001 XJ8) I have just tried to get these hoses off my expansion tank and one of the side entry hoses at the top of the tank snapped right where the rubber meets the hose clip.

Is there anywhere in the UK where I can mail order these parts. Our local Jaguar dealer (Hatfields in Shrewsbury) cound not be less helpful. One of their staff even said "what's an XJ8...is that a really old one???"

I don't expect a botch up with a bit of copper pipe and a load of araldite is going to connect the hose back to the plastic clip and withstand any pressure, so I nned a new part. Ebay has nothing.

FRUSTRATED!!!!

I snapped one of these on my XJR & repaired it using a different method-I got a length of heater hose that would go around the outside of the stub & then used worm-drive clips to secure it. Cheaper & stronger than those fragile plastic pipes...

Default Part found

Thanks guys.

I am absolutely amazed at how much cheaper the parts are in the US, or Europe even. It is actually much much cheaper to buy Jag parts from abroad!!

For years I havfe been buying my Opel parts from Germany instead of UK Vauxhall parts companies.

At the end of the day I got this and a few other items second hand via the Parts Gateway website - very useful and quick. It put me directly on to Jaguar specialists who could fully understand compatibility issues.
