The three cars I bought for my swap project were from CoPart. They have three types of accounts: Guest (free, can just look on website); Basic ($99 per year, can go on lots, buy a few cars a year); and Premier ($249 per year, can go on lots, buy lots of cars per year). Paid for the Basic member ship in 2002 and didn't renew.
At the Mobile lot, I saw an XK8 that I might want as a parts car. Paid the $99 and upgraded to Basic an 1/9. Page where you click says cancel for any reason within 7 days. Car listed as a run and drive. Car turned out to be crap. Solenoid wouldn't even click with a jump box, OBD wouldn't connect, TCU and ECU modules read as connection errors, wet from open back windows, front growler damaged, one of the headlights that wasn't smashed in the pictures was smashed. Looked much better in pics.
On 1/13, I emailed asking for a cancellation and refund. Response was can't refund because it was a renewal of my 2022 Basic membership even through 2+ years ago. Several emails to them "yes or no it says I can cancel for any reason within 7 days." Never a response except no refund will be given. Contacted PayPal expecting needed to send them my email chain and a screen shot of the cancellation policy. They refunded in a couple minutes. Couple minutes later got an email from CoPart that my account was suspended.

If one of you sees an acceptable X308 or X100 at the Mobile, AL message me and I’ll reregister. Might have to do under my wife’s name. It’s not like they haven’t made money off me. From the XJ8, XJR and Camaro SS for my swap project I paid about $3000 in fees.

 

Hmmm...one would think they would want to keep you around.

 

That's too bad, I've cancelled before without trouble, great that PayPal had your back. I was in for a shock with fees the first time I bought a car there, should have used the calculator... At the very least you were able to scout the car out and dodge a bullet.
