Well, you certainly must have a Nikasil engine, unless it has been replaced. And you probably have second generation timing chain tensioners. There was also a water pump upgrade, but I don't know offhand when that was.
Re the Nikasil engine, just keep your fingers crossed and keep driving! Nothing you can do about it, I don't think, until and unless you have a major engine failure. The early Nikasil failures were attributed to impurities in the gasoline, which are no longer present. So this is sort of like knowing that your ancestors had a bad disease, which you might or might not inherit!
Re the chain tensioners, it is probably worth upgrading to third generation, even though if your engine fails catastrophically you will have wasted the money. But failing tensioners can ruin the engine as well.
Nothing is easy!

Thanks for the speedy replies, I'm not worried about the nikasil issue at all, recently had the head gaskets replaced and the bores are like new plus 150 psi on all 8 cylinders. Tensioners were replaced by previous owner but I'm not sure which generation, would the part numbers on the receipt tell me?
No idea if the water pump has been changed, probably not as there is no mention of it in the paperwork I have.
I'm still confused about the engine number as I can't figure out how it shows me the build date, any ideas?
Thanks

My engine number looks kinda like - LL0008151018 - not sure what the LL is, but the rest is the manufacture date and time YYMMDDHHMM - and it may have seconds, not sure. But, I could not find my engine number near the thermostat housing. It's just not there. I found mine on the LH side of the engine block. The best way to see it is through the LH wheel well, with the wheel off, with a flashlight (torch).
