Question Difference between rear vent model numbers

I am looking for a new rear vent for my '98 XJ8. I had a beautiful one ordered, but tragedy struck and it broke right before they were about to ship it.

I am searching for another one that is in a good of shape, but I keep seeing two model numbers floating around, and I was wondering if there was a difference between them.

Mine says GNA7890AA and I have seen some that look exactly the same that say GNC7890AA. I do not know what the difference is, or if they are interchangeable. I have even seen one that was a GNA..., but the A was crossed out and a C written above it. Maybe that is how they change the model number.

I have searched for an answer, but have come up empty. I hope one of you can help.

Thank you in advanace.

The "A" should be the old model # and the "C" the new one. I recommend you do a Bing search instead of the crappy Google one. I found many available from Ebay $43 to other sellers like Jagbits $134 (overly expensive) and new-part.com $66.

So they are interchangeable then? I want to be completely sure before I go buying anything. Thank you for your reply.

Do the search, go to the item, see if it matches what your looking for and see if the description matches your vehicle first. Nothings guaranteed without seeing it in hand before buying. Like it says on most Ebay sites, ask the seller a question if your unsure. Many have cross reference numbers also.

Jaguar Classic Parts has a complete list of part numbers and their superseding parts. It appears that the GNC part replaces the GNA.

According to them, for North American X308s:

http://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/uk...-armrest-front

+ Console vent
+ To VIN (841350)
GNA7890AALEG
↳ GNC7890AA -
£66.50 -

+ From VIN (841351)
GNC7890AA £66.50

.
