jimmy. You didn't appear to be asking for advice, which is fine. But I'll offer up that this is an easy fix. I've done mine. I found a good welder who mig welded it (could've been tig, I get the two confused). My door panel & bolt holes were slightly torn so I backed it up on the inside with an oversized fender washer This is definately a weak link in the door system. I wonder what Jag gets for the part.....
Good luck.

It's a design flaw...careful with the fix and make sure to spread the load around the bolt holes otherwise you'll get cracks in your door too.

I got the cracks in the door. Backed up with oversize washers and now seems quite solid.

What happens? -- does it bend or does the inner door skin buckle??

Does this happen say if the wind catches the door ?

If you are asking about the cracks around the bolts. It literally gets cracks around where the bolts pass through the door skin. It's stress cracks over years of use. On mine, the door stop actually pulled all the way through the door skin before I noticed it was happening. I then hammered the metal back as smooth as I could, then backed up the nuts with oversize washers (as large as would fit) and it now seems ok. The large washers sandwich the door skin against the door stop. It gives it much more surface area to use.

I would think a strong wind or 20 would do this for sure. I always hold my door when it swings open, but I'm guessing years of use killed it anyways.
