Door Latch Piece.

There is this big gold piece that is preventing me from removing the door latch. I removed the three T30 screws from the door. It is free from the bottom but the top is still not moving because of that big piece. How do I remove it?

Starting around page 2299 of the X308 workshop manual, you see these instructions....
