Hi,
I have lost the glass and backing from my left side door mirror and have been attempting to acquire another online. There are a lot of adverts for mirrors said to fit XJ vehicles from 1996 to 2002, but are stated to be X300. Will these fit my 1998 X308?
Their fitment guide claims that they do.

 

I put an X308 mirror (complete assembly) on my X305. I can't imagine any reason it shouldn't work the other way around, or as bits and pieces.

There are several door mirror options which consequently makes the mirror glass options a little more complicated. They will all fit but the variation depends on whether you have:

1. warning / no warning (objects in the mirror may be closer etc)
2. electrochromatic / non dimming




The part numbers may help you identify the correct one for your vehicle.

Thanks, the ads on eBay, although claiming that the product fits all models 1996 to 2002, do caution that the shape has to be checked, difficult to do when the same image is used for all differing sellers!
