Default Driver seat issue!

So I just purchased a 2001 XJ8 L and had a PPI. It received a clean bill of health and then a week passes and the seat is acting a bit funny.

When I bought the car I programmed my seat to memory 1. After a week had passed with the seat working properly, the seat reclined and went back as far as it couldonce I hit the memory 1 button. This occured after I put the key in the ignition. Per the service records, the seat module was replaced less than 20k miles ago. However, if I remove the key from the ignition, put it back in the ignition and press memory 1, it does not recline or move all the way back. So when I get into the car now I have to manually adjust my seat, which is not a big deal, but it's starting to get a bit old.

Could this be due to low battery voltage?

Any help or link to a post would be extremely helpful!

Also, is there a link for a diy oil change?

Thanks!

You are using the same key/fob to open and start the car that you used when programming memory 1, correct? I, initially programmed mem 1 with one key/fob combination, and then later used the other - seat moved to a previously programmed position.... I ended up programming all mem locations with all keys to the same spot.

I'll give that a try and see if it works tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip.

If you have both keys -- you can have two different programs.

But ........ I'm not sure I understand what is happening.

Is your steering wheel moving correctly?

Are you saying that you have memory #1 programed for use as an "ease to exit" and its not holding the memory? If so get both keys and make sure you set them up correctly per the manual

Yesm the steering wheel does move correctly. I will review the manual and see of I can sort it out. Unfortunately, I'm 2 hours away from my car and can't play with it until tomorrow. I'll keep you posted for sure.

Thanks for the help and information.
