Driver side door mirror rattling

My sister has a 1999 Jaguar XJ8. Beautiful car, well maintained, low miles, and she's very happy with it. I'm a little OCD about cars, though, and the last time she came out to visit, I noticed a rattle when she closed the driver door. Investigation traced it to the mirror housing on the door. It's loose. I'm sure I can get it tightened down again, if I can get it off the car, and I promised her I'd do it when she comes out next weekend to visit again.
I've searched in the forum and there are a lot of mentions of mirrors, but not how to remove the door mirrors. Does anyone have a procedure available for this? If it was a Mercedes, I'd have it off in less than 5 minutes, but I've never worked on a Jaguar before. Very grateful for any help, and she would be, too.

Are you talking about the (painted or chrome) cap on the mirror housing or the whole housing (attached to the door) that's loose?
The cap just pulls off and just get new clips to reattach it.
The whole mirror assembly is attached by a torx bolt that you can tighten. Just roll down the window and carefully pull back on top of the panel to remove the trim piece and foam covering the bolt.

In case someone else comes across this problem...
After pulling the cap off, I found what was allowing the housing to rattle. The main housing for the mirror also has tabs that hold it into the mirror assembly. On this, the top tab had broken, and the mirror housing had about 1/8" to rattle back and forth. I used JB Weld epoxy to glue the broken tab and the housing back together - no more rattle.
